Feast of the Seven Fishes is a Juliet original. It was one of the initial 3 menus that defined our first year, 2016. We did only one thing...the menu that eventually evolved into Marseilles March...for all of that year (April - October), until we were asked by a friend to do something different for their wedding because their mom would “never go for the whole fish”. That something different was a roast chicken dinner with truffles, mushrooms, and caviar (which was exactly that in 2016...a “roast chicken dinner with truffles, mushrooms, and caviar”), and that push to do something different propelled us into another off the cuff menu change to wrap up the year with Feast.
From there it all began…
If Juliet Steakhouse, which immediately precedes it, is our most purposely extravagant menu (one of few that could be considered extravagant at all, really)...Feast is our “fanciest”. The food presented is intentionally modeled a bit more like the fancy tasting menus that overtook American dining in the late 2000’s...even though Juliet in general has always been a bit more purposefully homey. Steakhouse and Feast are an end of year departure from that with intention. While Steakhouse is the extravagance of an earlier century...Feast is one entirely of our own.
